Fighting cancer requires an army, a massive support system around the patient and their families who have to see their loved one in excruciating pain and yet not show their worry.
The best preventive option is to have a healthy lifestyle and do regular screening for the same. Breast cancer has ranked number one cancer among Indian females with age adjusted rate as high as 25.8 per 100,000 women and mortality 12.7 per 100,000 women.
Fortunately, today's world of science has found scanning machines that can diagnose and predict cancer in the future. Its yet not a common practice to undergo these tests as these
are not as affordable yet. Hence many social voluntary organizations in the health sector are coming forward by organizing camps joining hands with other welfare organizations to bring awareness about cancer and offer modern diagnostic methods to the common people for free. This is welcome and commendable.
In keeping with the social welfare objectives of Bangalore Warrier Samajam, a Mammography camp for breast cancer was held today in a mobile unit from 10.30 am to 3.00 pm, next to the premises of the organization. This was done in collaboration with another social voluntary organization 'Poorna Sudha Cancer Foundation' located in Bangalore, offering FREE breast cancer screening using modern equipment. More than thirty women aged 40 - 70 including those residing in and around Wasa layout underwent the tests. Continuity of such camps will help to resolve the stigma and concerns around the disease and seek treatment at an early stage if needed, leading to complete cure.
This initiative became another golden feather in the crown of Bangalore Warrier Samajam.
Mr. Anil Kumar, Mrs. Rajashree Warrier and Mrs. Rakhi Warrier, members of the Bangalore Warrior Samajam's Organising Committee, took the initiative to organize such a camp. Other office bearers and other members of Bangalore Warrier Samajam participated in this camp sponsored by Bangalore Warrier Samajam.

അർബുദം എന്ന മാരക രോഗം ദൈനം ദിനം മാനവരാശിയെ കീഴടക്കി കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു കാലഘട്ടത്തിലൂടെയാണ് നാമിപ്പോൾ കടന്നു പോയി കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്. പല തരത്തിലുള്ള അർബുദ രോഗങ്ങളെ പറ്റി നാം ദിനവും അറിഞ്ഞു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. ആധുനിക ശാസ്ത്ര ലോകം ഇതിനെ ഉന്മൂലനം ചെയ്യാനുള്ള ചികിത്സാ രീതികളും മറ്റു പ്രതിവിധി മാർഗ്ഗങ്ങളും തേടി കൊണ്ടേയിരിക്കുന്നു.
ഇന്ന് ഭാഗ്യവശാൽ അർബുദ രോഗ നിർണ്ണയം നടത്താനും ഭാവിയിൽ വരാനുള്ള സാദ്ധ്യതയുണ്ടോ എന്നെല്ലാം മുൻകൂട്ടി കണ്ടെത്താനുള്ള പരിശോധനാ യന്ത്രങ്ങൾ ഇന്നത്തെ ശാസ്ത്ര ലോകം കണ്ടെത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. പക്ഷേ സാധാരണക്കാരായ ജനസമൂഹത്തിനു താങ്ങാവുന്നതിൽ കൂടുതലായ തുക അർബുദം നിർണ്ണയം ചെയ്യുന്നതിന് ആവശ്യമായ്കയാൽ ആരും തന്നെ പരിശോധനക്കു മുന്നോട്ട് വരാറില്ല.
ആയതിനാൽ ആരോഗ്യ മേഖലയിലെ ഒട്ടേറെ സാമൂഹിക സന്നദ്ധ സംഘടനകൾ അർബുദത്തെ പറ്റിയുള്ള അവബോധനം നടത്തി ഇത്തരം ആധുനിക ചികിത്സാ രീതികൾ സാധാരണക്കാരിലേക്ക് സാജന്യമായി എത്തിക്കാൻ മറ്റു സാമൂഹിക സംഘടനകളുമായി കൈ കോർത്ത് നിരവധി ശിബിരങ്ങൾ സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച് മുന്നോട്ട് വരുന്നുണ്ട്. ഇത് സ്വാഗതാർഹവും അഭിനന്ദനങ്ങൾ അർഹിക്കുന്നതും തന്നെയാണ്.
ബാംഗ്ളൂർ വാരിയർ സമാജത്തിന്റെ പ്രഖ്യാപിത നയത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി ഇന്നു രാവിലെ 10.30 മുതൽ ഉച്ചയ്ക്കു 3.00 മണി വരെ സംഘടനയുടെ കെട്ടിട സമുച്ചയത്തിന്റെ അരികിൽ വച്ച് ബാംഗ്ലൂരിൽ തന്നെ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന മറ്റൊരു സാമൂഹിക സന്നദ്ധ സംഘടനയായ 'പൂർണ്ണസുധാ ക്യാൻസർ ഫൗണ്ടേഷനുമായി കൈ കോർത്ത് വാസാ ലേ ഔട്ടിൽ താമസിച്ചു വരുന്ന 40 വയസ്സിനു മുകളിലുള്ള വനിതകൾക്കു വേണ്ടി സ്തനാർബുദ രോഗത്തെ പറ്റിയുള്ള അവബോധനവും സൗജന്യമായി ആധുനിക രീതിയിലുള്ള ഉപകരണങ്ങളുടെ സഹായത്തോടെ പരിശോധനകളും നടത്തുവാൻ ഒരു ശിബിരം സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.. മുപ്പതിൽ പരം വനിതകൾ ഇതിൽ പങ്കെടുത്ത് പരിശോധനക്കു വിധേയരായി. ഇത്തരം ശിബിരങ്ങൾ നടത്തുന്നതു രോഗത്തിനെ പറ്റിയുള്ള അനാവശ്യ ആശങ്കകൾ അകറ്റാനും ആവശ്യമെങ്കിൽ പ്രാരംഭഘട്ടത്തിൽ തന്നെ ചികിൽസ തേടി സന്പൂർണ്ണ രോഗമുക്തിക്കും വഴിതെളിക്കും.
ഈ സംരംഭം ബാംഗ്ലൂർ വാരിയർ സമാജത്തിന്റെ കിരീടത്തിൽ ചാർത്തിയ മറ്റൊരു പൊൻ തൂവലായി മാറി.
ഇത്തരം ഒരു ശിബിരം സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുവാൻ മുൻ കൈ എടുത്തത് ബാംഗ്ളൂർ വാരിയർ സമാജത്തിന്റെ പരിപാലക സമിതിയംഗങ്ങളായ ശ്രീ അനിൽ കുമാർ, ശ്രീമതി രാജശ്രീ വാരിയർ, ശ്രീമതി രാഖി വാരിയർ എന്നിവരായിരുന്നു. ബാംഗ്ളൂർ വാരിയർ സമാജത്തിന്റെ മറ്റു ഭാരവാഹികളും മറ്റംഗങ്ങളും ഈ ശിബിരത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തിരുന്നു.
