The memories of last Sunday began with BWS members and families all decked out in colorful sports wear arriving early to be welcomed with the variety breakfast. After enjoying the breakfast first off the mark were tiny tots kicking off their first event running to grab the most chocolates followed by the seniors playing ‘Bombing the City’.
BWS organized the WASA Sports day 2024 at the Silver Oak resort off Yelahanka. The resort was exclusively reserved for the BWS members with a full day package to strengthen the solidarity and enjoy extra comfort engaging with the community. The sports events were divided into different age groups with events taking place in multiple grounds within the same area. The children and seniors were full of energy whether playing sports or enjoying themselves with indoor games like carom and chess.
Rajashree Warrier engaged all our senior citizens with some additional games like Chinese whisper and Passing the balloon game where we discovered many talented singers and dancers among our seniors.
Games went onto 12:30 pm after which the prizes were distributed to the winners post which a sumptuous lunch with salads, main course and desserts was served to all.
Post lunch most people gathered by the pool watching the teenagers and tiny tots having fun games and a few taking crash courses in swimming as well. A few of us lazed by the pool with one eye open to the sky and the other watching the pool games. Many members enjoyed the opportunity to gupshup with their friends and make new ones too in such picturesque surroundings.
Members returned to the ground by 3 30 pm for playing their favorite game ‘Tambola’ after which BWS gave out a ‘Safari’ bag as a token of appreciation to all the members who had signed up for the event. BWS also distributed seed balls prepared by Sarala Sudhakaran and Rajashree for this event, promoting a greener community with interest in growing their own food.
