Geetha Parayanam on Ekadashi

Updated: Dec 10, 2022

On account of Guruvayoor Ekadashi, some of our members in WaSa Layout organised Geetha Parayanam (recitation of Bhagavad Geetha) on 4th December 2022. It was attended by more than 10 variers/varasyaars.

A little more about Ekadashi:

Ekadasi (also spelled as Ekadashi) is a Hindu fasting day. It is observed every month on the eleventh or twelfth day of the waxing or waning moon cycle. The fasts are observed for different reasons, depending on the type of ekadasi. Some observe one-day fasts at the end of a season to give thanks for abundant harvest, while others may observe a three-day fast in order to get rid of accumulated sins. The word "ekadasi" comes from Sanskrit एक दशा meaning "eleventh" or "twelfth".
