Varnam - the annual Onam program was celebrated for the first time in person after the COVID pandemic on 30th October 2022 at Vijay Kiran Auditorium, Kaggadasapura. Close to 900 members attended the event and a good number of them took part in the cultural activities.
The highlights of the program were undoubtedly the Kaikottikali by the varasyaars (women members) followed by the group-dance competition where five teams participated. Later in the afternoon after the traditional Onam Sadhya (feast) more than 20 members aged above 70 years were felicitated. The members let their hair down at the end where there was a music orchestra playing peppy numbers. The committee had given prominence to programs which were in groups - so that it generates camaraderie between the participants and families.
In parallel, a blood donation camp was organised in partnership with Lions Club where more than 30 members of the samajam donated blood.
