The much-anticipated Varnam 2024 Competition Day took place on August 04th 2024, celebrating the vibrant hues of creativity and talent. This annual event has become a cornerstone for our WASA artists of all ages, providing them a platform to showcase their artistic skills and express their creativity.
Event Overview
The competition was held as always at WASA Plaza, with participants ranging from Under 5 years tiny tots to our very energetic senior citizens. The theme for this year's competition was a mix of cultural and literary events. The event was organized by Convenor- Preethi Balachandran, Competition Convenor – Sowmya U and volunteers that resulted in a well-coordinated and successful day.
Highlights of the Day
Opening Ceremony: The day began with a lamp lighting ceremony by Secretary and Convenor of WASA. This followed by kickstarting the event and taking us through the event by our MC Sajay.
Art Display: Participants were given a designated time to create their masterpieces. The venue was abuzz with enthusiasm as young artists poured their hearts into their work. The artwork ranged from vibrant arts and crafts.
Workshops: The Malakettal workshop was conducted by Mr Ravindran MV, to explore our Kulathoyil with a group of enthusiastic learners.
Judging Panel: The judging panel consisted of esteemed artists and educators. They meticulously evaluated each piece based on creativity, originality, technique, and adherence to the theme. The judges were impressed by the exceptional talent displayed by the participants.
Award Ceremony: The highlight of the day was the award ceremony, where the winners from each category were announced. Mementos were given to our esteemed judges.

Conclusion
Varnam 2024 Competition Day was a resounding success, highlighting the incredible artistic talent of young participants. The event not only provided a platform for artistic expression but also fostered a sense of community and appreciation for the arts. We look forward to next year's competition, expecting even more creativity and participation.
