Vishu is a harbinger of all good things for the entire year with the onset of spring. Every Malayali is looking forward to celebrating Vishu to symbolize the happiness they expect through the year .It starts early with mystical and magical Vishu kani with Vishu kaineetam , the key focus with kids counting their luck.
It was with the same high spirit that BWS celebrated Vishu on 28th April 2024. The event began with a prayer to Lord Krishna followed by the lighting of lamp by the Executive members. 150 people participated in the Vishu event which was a short and sweet one.
The President Mr. Muralidharan welcomed the members and their families to yet another gathering of Bangalore Warriers. Our Secretary Mr. Gopakumar shared an inspiring message on ‘Words creates the world’.
A myriad of cultural performances marked the event with lilting solo dances and melodious songs by the youngsters and senior members. It included a memorable performance ‘Chethi manadaram’ by a little girl and a zesty dance medley by Sirisha & Shivani. The anchors Sajay and Manasi encouraged audience participation with their cinema and song quiz breakers. The highlight of the event was a peppy group dance by the Happy feet team of BWS that was well appreciated by the audience.
Santhosh M expressed vote of thanks to our participants and organizers of the activities after which the hall echoed with the chorus of our National Anthem.
Finally the most awaited Vishu Sadya was served with a difference, a typical Kannada affair nevertheless enjoyed by all with ice cream to beat the summer heat. Members lingered chit chatting until the event drew to a close.
